PVRIS release new track ‘Heaven’

After weeks of cryptic teasing, with PVRIS posting a cryptic youtube video, clearing out their social media pages and a mysterious letter (which channelled a Series of Unfortunate Events), PVRIS has released a new track Heaven, the first single released off their upcoming second album All We Know of Heaven, All We Need of Hell.

In this track, it honestly sounds like PVRIS is really channelling Florence + the Machine, especially with the vocals of Lynn Gunn, in the beginning of the track, before segueing into a sound reminiscent of their debut album White Noise.

However, Heaven is the opening track of their second album, so who knows what their new album will sound like, with their being rumors that it will be ‘darker’ than their debut, with vocalist Lynn Gunn having this to say about their new album (from an interview with NME in February this year):

“I don’t want to give away too much, but I believe it is much broader and opened up in all aspects – sonically, lyrically, and visually. I really hate to say it’s more ‘mature’ but we wrote ‘White Noise’ when I was 19 and we have all changed so much and experienced so much in the past 3 years at such a quick and intense rate, the music definitely reflects that.”

So I guess we will see what happens.

All We Know of Heaven, All We Need of Hell is due to be released August 4th through Rise Records and can be pre-ordered here.
